Chungju CCI is a comprehensive economic organization voluntarily established by the entrepreneurs of Chungju, Danyang and Jecheon in 1963 in accordance with Chamber of Commerce Law with a purpose of promoting the improvement and development of local community.
Any company which runs commercial or industrial businesses of over certain scale within the area of jurisdiction would automatically qualify for the membership.
The operation of the CCI is mainly undertaken by the General Council meeting and Standing Council meeting who are elected by the members and responsible for the implementation of project plan and budget plan. The expenses necessary for the operation are funded by the membership dues paid by member companies.
As a private international economic organization, the entrepreneurs of 132 countries are in the membership of International Chamber of Commerce(ICC) based in France. In Korea, 71 local CCIs are in activity across the nation under the umbrella of the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry which was founded in 1884.
